Grice Consulting Group is a member of a transit planning team examining the feasibility of transit service paralleling Interstate 20 between downtown Atlanta and the Mall at Stonecrest on the eastern border of DeKalb County. Several alternatives are under evaluation to determine a feasible mobility alternative for the region’s east side. Grice Consulting Group’s involvement in the ongoing study has included developing a summary of the multitude of land use and transportation planning studies completed over the past decade that may impact the corridor’s transit study. Grice Consulting Group analyzed and summarized over 25 relevant local and regional studies to prepare a document with pertinent concepts designed to address the feasibility, fundability, supportability and implementation of premium transit facilities for the somewhat neglected southern DeKalb commuters.
Grice Consulting Group also inventoried, mapped and described existing land use and zoning. Overlaying identified anticipated future land use, Grice Consulting Group developed a description of potential impacts and compliance with zoning and future land use planning. This analysis was documented for use in environmental impact studies related to the study corridor which not only included I-20 but also a segment of the I-285 East corridor in DeKalb County.
